"That's three blocks down and one block over. You can't miss it."
Wessex Hotel Doorman

- THE WESSEX HOTEL - (13TH FLOOR) - The 13th Floor of the Wessex Hotel was built on a studio sound stage at the film's production company, Wilshire Court Productions. It stands at 5700 Wilshire Boulevard and is 43 blocks away from the Ambassador Hotel (now the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools), and 51 blocks away from the Sheraton Townhouse.

It was more than likely created by EDUARDO H. ESPARZA, the man listed in the credits as being in charge of the film's "SET CONSTRUCTION". Not listed in the credits (perhaps she worked with a listed company?) was RENEE PRINCE. According to the "Scenic and Set Painting" section of her website, she was responsible for all of the Wallpapering, Woodgrain, Aging, Beryl and Marble, used throughout the 13th Floor set. This is where all of the pictures of the 13th Floor in NOTTFO's Behind the Scenes section come from.

Alternate Views of the 13th Floor:
Behind-the-Scenes pictures of the 13th Floor come courtesy of Renee Prince. She states on her website that she was responsible for the wallpapering, woodgrain and aging, as well as inlaying the beryl and marble for certain firepaces on the 13th Floor. In essence, she was responsible for the entire 13th Floor. The layout, obviously, was determined by the layout of the other floors, and the 13th Floor had to match, architectually, anyhow; but the floor itself is a representation of a time gone by. An anachronistic era whose individualistic style refuses to be lost to history.

A lot of the intricitity put into the design of this floor, such as the beryl and marble inlayed into the fireplace to the left, or the decorum in the, now open door, to Room #8 as seen in the picture above, cannot be seen wherewhere in the film. There is a possibility, thus, that there may have been a few cut scenes that were shot on this floor, that can now only be found on the cutting room floor. If I can get ahold of any of them, NOTTFO will be the first to know.
